Karla joined ArtReach as Executive Director in August 2006 after spending two years on the Board of Directors. She brings 17 years of experience in the non-profit sector to the table, as well strong skills in staff and organizational management, budget development and fiscal oversight, creation and implementation of policies and procedures, crisis management, special event planning and strong relationship building abilities. Karla graduated with her Bachelors Degree from Baylor University. She is also a graduate of the 50 for Colorado Leadership Program through the University of Colorado at Boulder, and currently is on the Board for CAST3 representing SCFD Tier III organizations, and CATZ (Citizens for Arts to Zoo). Her passion and career path has taken her from working with artists and designers in Santa Fe, to her current position, with various strategic projects along the way. All have been growing experiences and have prepared her for the opportunity to be part of such a vibrant organization.
Karla attributes her love for non-profits and fundraising to the Junior League of Denver and feels it is the best training anyone can ever receive if wanting to get into the non-profit sector.
Karla is very happy her daughter shares her love for the arts!
