Karla Johnson-Grimes
Executive Director

Karla joined ArtReach as Executive Director in August 2006 after spending two years on the Board of Directors. She brings 17 years of experience in the non-profit sector to the table, as well strong skills in staff and organizational management, budget development and fiscal oversight, creation and implementation of policies and procedures, crisis management, special event planning and strong relationship building abilities. Karla graduated with her Bachelors Degree from Baylor University. She is also a graduate of the 50 for Colorado Leadership Program through the University of Colorado at Boulder, and currently is on the Board for CAST3 representing SCFD Tier III organizations, and CATZ (Citizens for Arts to Zoo). Her passion and career path has taken her from working with artists and designers in Santa Fe, to her current position, with various strategic projects along the way. All have been growing experiences and have prepared her for the opportunity to be part of such a vibrant organization.

Karla attributes her love for non-profits and fundraising to the Junior League of Denver and feels it is the best training anyone can ever receive if wanting to get into the non-profit sector.

Karla is very happy her daughter shares her love for the arts!

Carol Dawson
Community Tickets and Arts Express Manager

Carol Dawson brings to ArtReach her interest in serving special populations, most recently serving seniors, and sharing her love of artistic expression in its many forms.  After receiving her B.A. in advertising and art history from the University of Nebraska, she worked in development, programs and special events for museums in Washington, D.C. and Denver, CO. She also has experience in leasing and sales in a gallery capacity. Later in her career she worked in marketing as an independent contractor for privately held companies and art collectors. She expanded her sales skills in the graphic arts and has extensive experience in offset lithography.  The custom manufacturing and mail processing she engineered required her to deliver high levels of customer service in a competitive marketplace.  It is with that background in delivering top notch customer service that she approaches her responsibilities in managing the Community Tickets and Arts Express programs for ArtReach Denver, Inc.

Krista Braton
Operations Manager

Krista Braton is the newest member of the ArtReach staff as Operations Manager. Graduating from Colorado State University in 2006 with a B.A. in Creative Writing, she has used her skills in a variety of ways working for the Golden Chamber of Commerce. As a primary member of the Golden Fine Arts Festival planning committee, she coordinated the Festival for eight years, which brought tens of thousands of art-lovers to shop and enjoy the artwork of artists from around the country. Also, she organized the Golden Farmers Market, and numerous other events, along with performing administrative duties for the Chamber. She enjoys travel, writing, and music, and she appreciates the opportunity to contribute towards ArtReach's mission and goals of connecting the community with the power of art.
